Not often enough though, it would seem. Don't you hate it when you miss your own good press? From January? The Alternative Consumer says I'm "feisty" so, of course I'm in love with them now.
Also, we've been having a flying over the fence problem, so I clipped the chickens' wings - which made me feel every bit the self-sufficient farmer that I'm not.

Around here, you get what you get. Some days, half of your children do their homework with verve and alacrity. Some days, you wake up and think that five is the exact right number of fat hens to have in the yard. Some days, you discover that your handsome husband has been searching Craig's List for an early-nineties Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Some days, you get a headache (and it lasts for five days). Other days, not.

And? Now have a bloodied knee and significantly bruised palm to show for it.
