Lunchbox report!

Super exciting stuff, peeps! Contain yourself. We got new lunchboxes from Goodbyn this year, and they are a bit weird which I like. They get an A for coolness and packability and personalization. They get an F for ease of closure by an 8-year-old. Unrelatedly, what do we think of the new Blogger interface? Opinions?

School starts today, so I guess that means summer is over for real. Also, I am officially for loving on my new camera.

End of summer.

The end of summer has an affectionate disheveledness to it. A laziness that can only come from reading a good book in the sun. And it smells like ripe tomatoes. Don't you agree?

It is not possible to focus on one's own inadequacies at the exploratorium.

Craft show madness.

Craft shows are truly madness and I have quite possibly aged myself an extra year in the past week with all the anxiety (some of which was self-inflicted, but still) over this last one. Now I have some sorting to do and some hard decisions to make about where to go next and what to say when I get there.... But for now I just want to hug and kiss my little ones until they say ew and buy them new backpacks for school (which starts way too soon), make a pie, dig in the garden, and get lost in a good book - maybe The Help or The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo if I can find a copy at the library. Any other suggestions?

Just one of those days.

Do you ever have one of those days where nothing ever gets 100% finished and neither of the art supply stores has the clips or the twine you want and the poster comes back looking terrible and the skirt hangers you like are not available a quantity less than a gross, and your hair is slightly wackadoodle?

Don't take that last part too seriously Jacline, you know you're a super genius and sometimes it just takes a girl a minute to get used to having fire-engine red hair.

But that was yesterday and today is already much better.

A double-A plus day.

Look at that! The American Craft Council featured my apron in a promo yesterday.... Isn't that nice? So, this is probably a good time to remind you that I'll be in the American Craft Council show at Fort Mason next weekend (August 12-14). And if you're in the bay area, and you want to come, let me know because I have some passes and some half price thingys. Come visit! And bring me a cookie.

Some ideas are really good.

You know how sometimes you have an idea and you're like: this idea is so good that if anyone had ever thought of it before, I would surely have heard about it, therefor it must be a brand new good idea! And then you do the slightest amount of research possible and you find out that it's everywhere....
