Friday, I'm in love....

So in love with this Abigail Edwards wallpaper (via Design*Sponge). Isn't it amazing? I would totally do the bathroom in it if it did not cost $134 a roll, I did not have those weird suburban textured walls, and I thought I had any business hanging wallpaper.

When in doubt,

Pictures of the sky. Is there a Mommy ON/OFF switch somewhere? I can't find it. I can take the fighting and the whining, the chauffeuring, the relentless questions, the picky eating and the getting up too early. But when they make me worry? That's exhausting. If I could just turn the switch OFF for about fifteen minutes, that would be great.

Lemon Love.

Isn't it nice when somebody puts your bag in a Treasury? Especially when it's a beautifully gorgeous one like this curated by bonnbonn. Thank you!

The Shove (after).

Isn't that so much better? Aren't you dying to know how I did it? I knew you would be....
The paint is Paris Grey from Chalk. A million good things have been said about Chalk Paint, and I found them to be 100% true. For a project like this, totally worth the higher price.
I used a regular Minwax wax finish that I got at Lowe's. It looks great and I enjoyed the elbow-grease wax-on wax-off aspect of it, but next time I would spring for the Chalk wax and use a brush instead of a rag. The fabric is from Moda and I used this technique to hang it.
I'm so in love with it right now. I might love it enough not to fill it up with crap.

The Shove (before).

Pretty, right? Wrong. I live in the burbs, which means that on our street you have one of four possible floorplans and everyone has these bottom-of-the-line gauranteed-not-to-offend-anyone oak cabinets with a kind of honey colored stain. I'd love to pretend that the photo above was the actual "before" shot. But, it's not....

This is the "before" shot. This is the spot in our house that my handsome husband not-so-affectionately calls "the Shove." Yeah. Before you get all it's-not-so-bad and everybody-has-one, I see a Christmas ornament shoved in there.
We do need a place for the homework and school supplies to land, but this is ridiculous. First, I had to Half it, which was not that hard since it was mainly Christmas ornaments and public elementary school menus from last May. "After" shots coming soon!
